Supporting the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation with a Portrait of Stephen Darby & Marcus Stewart
At MJLArt, I’m always looking for ways to use my artwork to support meaningful causes and this project was something truly special. I recently donated a hand-drawn portrait of Stephen Darby and Marcus Stewart to help raise funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, a charity that’s making a real difference in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The Portrait
The original drawing, created in graphite pencil, captures Stephen and Marcus together two former professional footballers who have both been diagnosed with MND and have since dedicated themselves to raising awareness and funds for others living with the condition.
The portrait was included in a charity raffle to support the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation and thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part, an incredible £550 was raised for the charity. Every pound will go towards vital research and supporting those affected by MND.
It was an honour to create a piece that celebrates their strength, friendship, and unwavering positivity.
About the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation
The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation was founded by Stephen Darby and Chris Rimmer after both were diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Their mission is to fund research to find a cure, raise awareness of MND, and provide support to those living with the condition.

Why I Support Causes Like This
As an artist, my work is rooted in connection whether that’s the bond between people and their pets or the shared compassion that brings communities together. Supporting the Darby Rimmer Foundation was a chance to use my art to give something back and to honour two people who continue to inspire so many.
Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who entered the raffle, donated, and helped spread the word. Your kindness helped raise £550 for a truly worthy cause, and I’m proud that my artwork could play a small part in supporting it.
